I’ve never blogged before. I am not a writer, but I feel I have a story to tell so I’ve given myself an outlet.
My name is Dana. I am a nurse. In fact, I am a Nurse Practitioner and my highest degree is a Doctorate. I worked hard to become a Doctor of Nursing, but nothing prepared me for being a mom. A working mom. A business-owning, working mom.
I have two little girls. S & A are 19 months apart… I did this on purpose. I wanted kids close together. I also wanted two boys, but I could never have imagined how much I would LOVE having two little girls. They are awesome…even when they aren’t. They are the focus of each day of my life, and being a mom has brought me more joy than I could’ve ever dreamed of.
Some days I am on FIRE. I wake up, I make sure everything is prepped and ready for my girls. I make sure things are prepped and ready for my husband. I get to work on time. I am productive at work and make it home in time to make dinner, take the girls to activities, read bedtime stories, chat with my husband about his day, and get myself to sleep before 10pm. Seriously, ON FIRE!
Other days, I wake up… it’s chaos from beginning to end and I go to sleep with complete anxiety about all of the things that didn’t get accomplished— all of the things I didn’t pay enough attention to: my girls, my husband, my sitter, my siblings, my parents, my home, my work…myself.
My goal with this blog is to write about my kids, my husband, my days, my work, my highs and my lows. I struggle. I triumph. I do everything in between. I know there are other parents out there that can relate to my life and I know it feels great to know someone else is there beside you.
I welcome feedback and conversation. You never know who you can help by sharing YOUR story.
Welcome to the AVERAGE MOM LOVE. ❤
